On occasion, I release videos about, or that take place in, the fictitious events of the Half-Life series by Valve Corporation.
The vast majority of my videos are documentations of events that take place in the Half-Life series that I feel have not been explored very much by Valve, most notably, the time between the Black Mesa incident seen in Half-Life and the Seven Hour War, mentioned in Half-Life: Alyx, Half-Life 2, Episodes One and Two.
I only release videos when I have a good plan for one, so there is not exactly a release schedule, so to speak. Any of the videos that I may release in the future, however, will be related to the Half-Life series.

November 1, 2020: Dr Gordon Freeman is placed on a train inbound to City 17.
I really hope/wish they will make a TV-series akin to the Chernobyl series on HBO, depicting the events of Half Life 1 and how everything turns to shit and gets worse and worse... Maybe a dual narrative, one of a scientist/security guard on the inside, and the other of an average American family man following along the news somewhere close to Black Mesa in New Mexico, watching fighter planes rush by overhead every second, and then at some point he also gets affected, have to evacuate immediately with no warning etc etc. And maybe a third narrative depicting the president or some high ranking official in Washington DC trying to figure out what the hell is going on and maneuver the political implications, and then the much worse implications later on.
20:05 I've never played the original half-life. Is LZ-Sparrow actually mentioned in-game? I saw an old SFM called LZ-Sparrow and wondered if this was a reference to the SFM, or if the SFM was a reference to the original Half-Life. Sorry if this is a silly question.

Seeing this makes me so angry that Valve left Half-Life unfinished for so many years.

Where did you get the date in the description (December 2000)?
I'd say the disaster went international far sooner, with smaller enemies like headcrabs reaching Mexico around early-mid surface tension, and forces in Europe around the time Black Ops left due to the simple fact that getting nuked isn't the most pleasant experience.
Grew up playing HL2, I didn't realize just how fucking brutal, horrific and bleak Earth was during the Combine's reign. Even if these events aren't necessarily canon, they sure are in my heart. Wonderful job, Neinfeld!

Freeman, Calhoun, and Shepherd were some of the lucky ones to survive the disaster here. Their wits, determination, weapons, and protective equipment allowed them to survive against dangerous odds. 👌😎🙏

I take it you skipped most of the video. It's explained at 1:19:20. The March 11 2011 Tsunami (A real life event that happened) wiped out thousands of survivors still living on the archipelago. The country experienced heavy loss of life after the 7 Hour War, to the point where there was only a few thousand Japanese people left. The tsunami ripped through surviving settlements, leaving only a few hundred survivors already struggling to survive. The last of which died out about 5 years due to a combination of dwindling resources and the ever abundant Xen wildlife.
Maybe its my empathy, but I cannot help but imagining malnourished and demoralized soldiers from all nations, just doing what they can, fighting off the Xen aliens, and then falling to the Combine shock forces, despite all their training and efforts. Its saddening.

I remember seeing this movie many times during the summer of ‘88 at the Atco Drive-in theatre.
One of the most mysterious parts of this is at 1:08:41 where security access is overwritten. Who overwrote them? Why overwrite them now? Was it caused by widespread system failure?
Not sure who exactly would have overwritten the access systems given that many of the high ranking scientists and administrative personnel were either dead or already evacuated so it's likely that given the amount of damages sustained throughout the facility from the Resonance Cascade that many of the facility systems were failing left and right which probably included the security systems that finally gave out at that point. It wouldn't have made a difference though since the nuke was gonna go off anyway.
